Working with Rainbow Bridge gives you the flexibility to provide end-of-life care on a schedule that works for you.
There are no minimum hours or set shifts. We contact our veterinary partners when an appointment becomes available, and you simply let us know whether you're available to accept it.
You can work as frequently or occasionally as suits you.

Rainbow Bridge takes care of the client booking, appointment details and administration.
When we have an appointment requiring a vet, we'll contact veterinary partners who cover that area with the relevant appointment details.
If you're available and would like to take the appointment, you can accept it. If you're unavailable, there's no obligation to do so.
You'll visit the family at home and provide the euthanasia appointment in accordance with Rainbow Bridge's approach and agreed procedures.
Our team remains available to support both you and the family, including arranging aftercare where required.
The experience we provide to families and their pets is extremely important to us.
Appointments should never feel rushed or clinical. Families need time to ask questions, understand what is happening and say goodbye in their own way.
Our approach includes sedation before the final euthanasia injection, allowing the pet to become relaxed and peacefully asleep before the final stage of their goodbye.
We're therefore looking for veterinary partners who share our commitment to compassionate, patient and respectful end-of-life care.
We're interested in hearing from RCVS-registered veterinary surgeons who:
- Are confident carrying out pet euthanasia
- Have experience in small animal practice
- Have a calm and compassionate approach
- Communicate sensitively with pet owners
- Are comfortable working independently in clients' homes
- Understand the importance of providing families with time and reassurance
- Share our commitment to sedation before the final injection
- Hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Have their own suitable transport
Previous experience providing home euthanasia is helpful, but isn't essential.
Rainbow Bridge Pet Euthanasia supports families throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and surrounding areas of the North West.
We're particularly interested in building a strong network of veterinary professionals across the region so that we can provide families with greater appointment availability, including evenings and weekends.
Even if you can only cover a small geographical area or offer occasional availability, we'd still be happy to hear from you.
